Environmental Volunteering Calendar

Join Conservation Volunteers Australia for a day of giving back to the environment and connecting with nature at Murtnaghurt Lagoon. This culturally significant area for Wadawurrung Traditional Owners provides important feeding and breeding habitat for native fish and a number of wetland-dependent bird species, including rare and endangered flora and fauna.

Together with Parks Victoria we will be hosting a day of weed extraction where volunteers can actively help preserve and protect this important wetland. Followed by a morning tea and the opportunity to explore and survey the stunning flora and fauna that call this area home.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Join Conservation Volunteers Australia for our free event to help restore the private land around Lake Connewarre Wetlands. The remarkable Lake Connewarre is one of Victoria's most significant wetlands and a Ramsar site for migratory birds. Private landholders need our help to maintain and restore habitat connectivity and biodiversity of the wetland's surrounding ecosystem.

We will be participating in the cut and paint of woody weeds to help keep invasive species at bay and prepare for the future planting of native flora. A lunch will be provided by our grateful landholders, followed by a flora walk to explore the surrounding plant biodiversity.

Hello to all volunteers past, present and newcomers.

We are about to hit the ground running with the new HP breeding season about to begin. It would be wonderful to catch up with as many as possible to meet one another, and share ideas, information, or other enquiries anyone has prior to the season taking off. There has been lots happening in the background to prepare for this season and it will be a great opportunity to share all things Hoodie.

Hopefully this date suits most. Please feel free to contact me if you can't make it in person but could possible meet by a microsoft Teams invite.

Looking forward to seeing many of you and catching up with our local Hoodies on the beach!

Cheers to all things Hoodie!
