We acknowledge Wadawurrung People as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community.
Join the Geelong Gallery for a fascinating visit to Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk which means ‘headwaters of continuous flowing river’ in Wadawurrung language and learn more about Barwon Water’s current project to transform the former Bellarine Basin site into more than 30 hectares of environmental and public space for the community to access. Working closely with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and the wider community, the project seeks to reimagine the space and enhance the unique and natural features of the Bellarine Peninsula using sustainable design and management practices.
Enjoy a tour of the site followed by a drawing activity with local artist Ryan Brearley exploring the natural landscape.
This event is part of Geelong Design Week 2023, an initiative of Geelong UNESCO City of Design and the City of Greater Geelong. This is a free event but bookings are essential.

A Group Art Exhibition
Habitats are the places - homes - that allow native animals and plants to survive and thrive. The Bellarine Peninsula has outstanding diversity of habitats - rivers and lakes, heathy and grassy woodlands, coastal shrublands and wetlands of international importance - all within a relatively small area. Artisans of Australia, Bellarine Landcare Group and Bellarine Catchment Network are hosting four weeks of art and craft to celebrate these habitats.
Join us at Edwards Point Wildlife Reserve to help restore the last remaining stand of coastal woodland on the Bellarine Peninsula. We're teaming up with Parks Victoria for a day of weed extraction, followed by morning tea and the chance to explore and the stunning flora and fauna of the reserve. The reserve is a Ramsar site and an international flyway, making it an incredibly significant location to protect and conserve.
** Key Highlights ** Guided hands-on weeding for coastal conservation. Share camaraderie and refreshments during morning tea. Explore Two Bays Lookout with breath-taking views. Discover secluded beaches hosting diverse bird species.
Look forward to seeing you there!
