Volunteers monitoring Hooded Plovers on the beach.

The Hooded Plover Breeding Season is Beginning!

The Friends of the Hooded Plover Bellarine have been working to conserve the Hooded Plovers along the Point Lonsdale to Breamlea stretch of coastline since the Beginning of Birdlife Australia's Beach Nesting Bird program in 2006. We need a team of passionate volunteers to help us continue this important conservation work.

If you enjoy spending time at the beach, observing birds and chatting to new people this opportunity could be perfect for you. Training is free online provided by Birdlife Australia and we provide in person training on the beach, hi-vis vest, and on going support. All you need is enthusiasm, patience, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a smile. BYO binoculars if you have them otherwise we can find you a pair. Our group of existing volunteers are friendly, welcoming and we would love to have you join us.

To get involved please sign up at Birdlife Australia's Beach Nesting Bird Program or email fohp_bellarine@birdlife.org.au

Or call the Volunteer Regional Coordinator Tash Verspeek on: 0418 103 115
