Swan Bay Environment Association's Habitat Restoration Group is restoring habitat by removing woody weeds, such as Polygala myrtifolia - the most widespread woody weed in the Borough. It is crowding out many indigenous species including orchids, wildflowers, shrubs and grasses, reducing biodiversity and habitat for our local birds, insects and mammals.
Please join us in restoring Habitat of the Borough of Queenscliffe on Sunday, September 3rd from 9.30am to 11.30am, meet near the corner of Mercer St & Symonds St, Queenscliff (see map). Wear sturdy shoes, gardening gloves and if you have any loppers, bring them. Don't forget sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. We look forward to seeing more new faces in September. No need to register, just turn up on the day.
