Do you have two hours to help to protect an incredible native grassland?
We need your help to manage a very special grassland by removing invasive African Weed Orchids. Highfields grassland, 5 minutes drive out of Queenscliff, is a delight, abounding in beautiful native grasses and herbs, sun orchids, onion orchids …. and the invasive African Weed Orchids.
We are working with the landholders to control the weed orchids, but we need a big push to remove them before their seed ripens and drops.
We will provide morning tea and a cuppa.
BYO water bottle and sunscreen. Please wear a hat, long pants, long sleeves and bring a rain jacket. If possible wear gumboots or boots which can be washed down. The orchids aren’t seeding yet, but it would be a good precaution.
