Join a citizen science program dedicated to highlighting an issue that is almost invisible to the naked eye!
The Southern Ocean Environmental Link (SOEL) has partnered with AUSMAP (the Australian Microplastic Assessment Project) to empower community members to conduct vital scientific research to help save our river systems and coastlines.
By gathering critical new data about microplastic in our waterways, AUSMAP is creating vivid maps of microplastic pollution hotspots around Australia. Your work will enable communities and government to implement behaviour change, regulate industry, and develop better waste management systems!
Join us at the Santa Casa Beach on Sunday 10 December 2023 to participate in a microplastics survey and collect data on the microplastics situation on our local beaches.
All equipment provided, just wear appropriate outdoors clothes and footwear.
When: Sunday 10 December 2023 , 12pm-2pm
Where: Santa Casa Beach car park (at the end of Henry St, Queenscliff)
