Winter Movie Night - Flyways
Please join Ocean Grove Coastcare as we present a community screening of one of the most beautiful and remarkable Australian films released this year- Flyways- The untold story of migratory shore birds. Each year, millions of shorebirds follow ancient flyways moving from the south of the planet to the north and back again. Using nanotechnology and global tracking from the International Space Station, the project uncovers the paths of the world’s greatest, feathered endurance athletes and shines a light on the scientists and international lawyers who collaborate to save them.
Following the film, local bird expert, Barry Lingham, will speak about our very Latham's Snipe, that arrive annually from Japan and are Ocean Grove’s own migratory bird species that love to spend summer here each year.
