Environmental Volunteering Calendar

Our next scheduled weeding day for 2022 in Edwards Point Reserve is this Tuesday 11 October 2022 at 9.30am

Date
11/10/2022
9:30 am
11/10/2022
11:00 am
Location
Dune St, Saint Leonards VIC, Australia

This is probably our last chance to remove more Flax Leaf Broom before it starts seeding. If you are free this Tuesday and would like to help us potentially stop tens of thousands of Broom seedlings germinating next year, you will be very welcome to join us.

The plan is to meet at the Dune St. entrance to the western block.

The work is not strenuous, and there are no expectations on you to do more than you feel up to do, and there is no pressure to stay for the whole session.

I have listed the weeding session details below however, if it is consistently raining then we will cancel the weeding activity.

As we are working on a Parks Victoria’s estate, we are required to meet the following conditions.

Registering on Park Connect

Parks would also like all volunteers to register on Parks Connect.

The first step is to register your detail on Park Connect. You only need to do this once

The second step is to register your intention to join an activity This will help us keep in touch with you and let you know if the weeding morning has been cancelled due to inclement weather

This is easy to do and will only take about 5 minutes. You can register via the below link

https://www.parkconnect.vic.gov.au/

Parks Victoria have implemented a mandatory requirement that all volunteers who are working in their Reserves hold a current Working with Children’s Check Card. This is easily obtained and is free for Volunteers and is very handy to have. You can now apply for the check via the Services Victoria App or via the below links.
