Bush Restoration and Kids Nature Activity

Join the 'Friends of Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk' on the first Wednesday each month and participate in bush regeneration at this excellent new site. Join Bellarine Catchment Network and Barwon Water at this special reserve on Wadawurrung Country, formerly known as the Bellarine Basin.

Join the Friends of Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk at this special Easter session for all - including families with kids of all ages! The Friends of group, Bellarine Catchment Network and Barwon Water will be hosting this special day where adults can learn about bush regeneration and kids can explore the joys of the bush including special creatures like birds and Echidnas.

  • Join in on the regular weeding activity
  • Book in kids for the nature-themed activity and scavenger hunt
  • Pick up some booklets and brochures
  • Celebrate with morning tea.

This event is supported by Barwon Water and the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.

What will I be doing?

The Friends of Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk will be able to participate in:

  • Monthly weed removal and control
  • Plant and animal surveys (when relevant)
  • Citizen science
  • Seed collection
  • Revegetation (when relevant)

Volunteers will be guided by experienced conservation field staff. Volunteers will need to BYO safety gear (enclosed shoes, gloves, glasses). All activities are subject to weather warnings and considerations and volunteers are notified 24 hours before an activity. If you require assistance or support, please email us at info@bcn.org.au.
