We are hoping to add records to the native flora and fauna of the reserve. Essentially a Bioblitz. Given that it will be done during daylight saving it will be a late time for the night time activities.

Meet: at 5:00pm opposite 165 Point Richards Rd in Portarlington (parking along the roadside).

There will be multiple activities, no need to attend for the whole evening.

  1. Late afternoon. Daylight bird walk with eBIRD lists and bird photographs.
  2. Micro bat survey. Using Harp nets and an Acoustic monitoring Minibat2 sound recorder.
  3. Moths, other insects and invertebrates. Using moth sheets and direct observation. Records and photographs to iNaturalist
  4. Night time bird/insect/frog etc walk with some spotlighting. Records to go to eBird, iNaturalist, FrogID. Also deploy a Bird song recorder for listening to night birds.
