Join us and the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre on this free canoe of Swan Bay, a Ramsar wetland with international significance. Swan Bay is made up of mudflats, saltmarsh, seagrass meadows and sand dunes within the area support a high diversity of fish species, wading birds and waterfowl including species protected under Japan Australia Migratory Birds Agreement and China Australia Migratory Birds Agreement international migratory waterbird treaties. It also provides an important breeding and nursery area for fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other marine organisms.
Swan Bay is also a lovely place to enjoy the beauty of nature and try your luck at spotting an Orange Bellied Parrot!
These canoe sessions are suitable for ages 12+ and must use supplied canoes (no BYO).
Canoe trip is on Wednesday the 16th of April. Please meet at the Queenscliff Lonsdale Yacht Club located at King St & Nankervis Parade, Queenscliff.
